Tin Plating

Milwaukee Plating’s rack tin plating line can accommodate a wide range of copper bus bars, rod, tube, and smaller electrical and manufactured components made from steel, zinc die castings, or various copper alloys in up to 10-foot lengths and our tin deposits are RoHS compliant and a pre-plate for aluminum parts is now offered.

Out tin plating options include:

  • A bright tin finish with organic brighteners is produced in an acid tin solution.
  • A matte tin finish, without brighteners, is also available.
  • A pre-tin copper or nickel plate is available for parts requiring underplating.

Tin is a white, non-toxic, solderable, soft deposit, useful for its resistance to corrosion and tarnish. These qualities make it a prevalent finish in the food processing and shipping industries. Tin is also widely used in the electronics industry, due to its ability to preserve low contact-resistance on connectors, semi-conductors, and components. Tin is also very soft and malleable, so it can be transformed without cracking,
